Who Can Save Us From This World?

Genocide and terrorism. Domestic violence and murder. Alcoholism and drug addiction. Adultery and sexual abuse. Greed and selfishness. Pride and lust. The list goes on and on.

Who can save us from this world filled with sin?

Approximately 2,000 years ago, God’s only begotten Son was praying in the garden of Gethsemane. His name was Jesus. While praying, Jesus uttered these words:

“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”
John 17:17

As Jesus said in His prayer, God’s Word is truth. You can trust it. In fact, God’s Word is the only thing you can trust in a world filled with sin.

It’s God’s Word that reveals that within hours of Jesus saying those words, He was betrayed, beaten severely and then nailed to a cross.

Who nailed Jesus to the cross? Anyone who ever sinned. Which would be everyone who ever lived, other than Jesus.

Jesus was God in the flesh, and He was the only person to walk this earth and live a totally sinless life. Which is why His death could take away all our sins; as He became a sacrifice for our sins. And He rose from His grave, and appeared to His disciples. And now He lives!

All Are Sinners
God’s Word tells us that all are sinners:

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23

It also tells us that the price for our sins is death:

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:23

God’s Remedy For Sin
While all have sinned, God loves everyone. Yes, you are loved by God. And He has a plan to save you from sin.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8

Let us all be thankful that God has a remedy for sin. And the remedy is Jesus Christ:

“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.”
I Corinthians 15:3-4

All May Be Saved Now
By receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you can be saved from all your sins–past, present and future.

“For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 10:13

You Can Have Assurance Of Your Salvation

“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Romans 10:9

But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.
John 20:31

Jesus Christ can save you from all of your sins. That is the gift of grace. But as it’s a gift, you must receive it. Otherwise, your sins will continue to separate you from God and His grace, and will ultimately result in you spending eternity in Hell. Make no mistake, Hell is as real as earth and heaven, and it is not a place you want to spend even a few minutes, much less an eternity.

Are You Ready To Receive Jesus Christ As Your Savior?
Right now, you can pray to God to have the Spirit of His son, Jesus Christ, come dwell inside your heart. And with that, you can receive the gift of God’s grace and a promise of life spent in heaven after your life here on earth.

Here is a prayer you can say to receive Christ:

“Father, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins on the cross and was raised for my justification. I do now receive and confess Him as my personal Savior.”

If you prayed that prayer with a sincere heart, you are now a child of God. We encourage you to prayerfully seek a local church that will assist you in growing as a new Christian by the clear teaching of the Bible. Also, please leave a comment here on this blog letting us know of your decision to follow Jesus Christ so that we can pray for you.

May God bless you this Easter Sunday.
